Since 1989, the Center for Women's Business Research has illuminated and accelerated the power of women entrepreneurs through our innovative research documenting the economic and social contributions of women-owned enterprises.
Our research explores the progress and achievement of women business owners and yields statistics that paint the picture of new and existing women-owned businesses.
We investigate the motivations and factors that affect women's business decisions, and discover trends in innovation and technology, access to capital and markets, and the role of women-owned businesses in the international economy. We also examine the role of women business owners as consumers and as employers (particularly in relation to employee benefits and employment issues. Our research has explored a number of special topics and issues of growing prominence, including the state of minority women business owners, evolution of home-based women-owned businesses, and distinctions in philanthropy.
